The rider was airlifted to Selly Oak hospital in Birmingham and the road was closed for investigations.
A police spokesman said: "Police were called to the B4363 Middleton just before 11am following reports of a road collision.
"At this stage only one vehicle, a motorbike, is believed to have been involved. The rider, a man, suffered serious head injuries and was airlifted to Selly Oak hospital in Birmingham.
"The road has been closed while emergency services and police collision investigators work.
"Any witnesses with information can contact West Mercia Police on 08457 444 888."
No details have yet been released of the rider's age or how the accident happened.
A spokesman for Shropshire Ambulance Service confirmed that they were called to the accident.
No specific details have yet been released as crew members were still at the hospital, he said.
The spokesman added: "We received a call at 10.38am today to a road traffic accident.
"A rapid response vehicle was at the scene within seven minutes and the county air ambulance also attended.
"Until the crew clear no further details can be released as yet," he added.
