Organisers of the famous event, which takes place in Newtown every December, say the winning design will be displayed on Dial-a-Ride buses in the town.

Andrew Mills, one of the organisers, said the competition was a great way to get in the mood for this year's event.

He said: "We want children in the area to draw us a Christmas picture, featuring Santa or Rudolph and send it in to us by August 1.

"The winning entry will then be picked on August 15 and the logo will be used on our bus."

The winner will be presented with a £25 Toys R Us voucher and a large signed photograph of Blue Peter presenters Zoe Salmon and Andy Akinwolere.
