Shed raided for radio cars

Radio controlled vehicles worth around £1,500 taken from a shed in Kidderminster are believed to have been stolen to order.

Four of the models were stolen along with radio controllers, electrical components and work knives.

The models, measuring 18ins by 12ins, were a Traxxas Jato off-roader with grey, plastic body and red trim, a blue Traxxas Revo four-wheel drive, a Hot Bodies blue four-wheel drive off-road vehicle, and another vehicle which had been built up from spares.

The owner from Cobden Street said he had only recently bought the models to take it up as a hobby.

He is convinced the thieves, who broke in sometime between June 13 and 14, knew what they were after and may have stolen the vehicles to order.

He is particularly upset at the loss of some of his work knives which belonged to his late father and had sentimental value.

The owner has now revised his security and police are reminding householders to ensure their sheds are secure.

They are also advising it is best not to store expensive items such as power tools, mowers, bicycles and golf clubs in them.

Police are warning people to be doubly certain their sheds are locked over the summer period so they are not vulnerable to thieves.
