Shropshire's countryside will be showcased to the nation on prime-time television tonight as part of a new multi-million pound TV advert.Land in Ironbridge, Whitchurch, Much Wenlock and Oswestry features in the commercial for dairy giant Müller , which has a large dairy in Market Drayton.

The commercial will have a 40-second showing on ITV1 during the 8.30pm episode of Coronation Street.

Scenes were also filmed on land belonging to Richard Charmley at Ightfield, near Whitchurch.

Mr Charmley supplies milk from his herd to the Müller Dairy in Market Drayton.

Stewart Gilliland, Muller Dairy UK chief executive, said: "We're promoting our pride in being a Shropshire business strongly this year and what better way to do that than show off the beautiful countryside we have in the county to millions of television viewers.

"There's no doubt having Shropshire as our canvas for it has played an enormous part in the success of the finished product."

The advert is part of a campaign promoting the fact 90 per cent of the milk used by Müller comes from farms within a 30-mile radius of the Market Drayton dairy.

About 700,000 litres are used every single day, and the milk goes from the farm to become yoghurt in less than 24 hours.
