Her mother Susan Minor, also of Shrewsbury, today described her daughter as "perfect" and said she had been looking forward to going on the trip abroad.

"She was just off enjoying her first girlie holiday abroad with three girlfriends. She was really excited about it, she was planning it for a few months," she said.

Mrs Minor said she understood her daughter had collapsed in a club and been taken to hospital by her friends.

"She was asthmatic and I have been told she collapsed with breathing problems, her friends got her to a hospital and I am not sure what happened," she said.

"She would do anything for anybody. She was very bubbly, very lively, very friendly.

"She has her own Facebook site and she described herself on there as 'little perfect', and she really was."

The family is now waiting for more news on what happened from authorities in Zakynthos.

A spokeswoman for the Foreign and Commonwealth Office said: "We can confirm the death of a British national, Samantha Price, in Zakynthos, Greece. The cause of death is unknown.

"The parents have been informed and consulate assistance is being provided."
