Two stall-holders at Worfield's regular car boot sale were caught with hundreds of pirate DVDs and CDs and hard-core porn, Telford magistrates heard today.

Counterfeit copies of blockbuster movies like Spiderman3, Ratatouille and Bourne Ultimatum were on offer for £3 each, said prosecutor Mike Davies.

Shoppers could also snap up the worst kind of adult DVDs which would only be legally on sale in a licensed sex shop, he said.

Before the court were Ivan Andrew Rigby, 34, of Willenhall, West Midlands, and a 17-year-old youth from Stafford, who cannot be named for legal reasons.

Rigby admitted a total of 19 offences and the youth 20 offences, relating to possessing DVDs and music CDs with false trade marks and adult films without classification certificates.

The pair, who said they both existed on state benefits, were each fined £115 and ordered to pay £395 costs and victim surcharge of £15.

Mr Davies, prosecuting for Shropshire County Council, said trading standards officers and police raided the stall last November 10.

"They seized 789 music items, 528 movies and 98 pornographic DVDs."

"The potential loss to trade and industry was £14,150," he said

The 17-year-old told the court: "A bloke said he would give us £30 to sell the films."

For Rigby, Mr John Walker said: "He was a fall guy."
