The victim,in her 20s from Stourport, suffered cuts and swellings to her face in the attack at the Mill Street subway, which links Crossley Retail Park with the Matalan store car park, at about 1.30pm on October 27.
She was punched in the face by the mugger who grabbed the handbag. There was a struggle but the attacker ran off empty-handed towards the Crossley Retail Park as a shopper walked into the underpass.
The victim did not go to hospital but suffered a nosebleed, cut lip and swelling.
Her attacker was white, in her mid 20s, about 5ft 4ins, thin with long, greasy brown hair tied in a high ponytail.
She had a pale complexion, stained teeth, and a tattoo with black text on her left wrist. She wore a black, hooded top, dark blue, tight-fitting boot-cut style jeans which looked worn, and dirty white trainers.
Police also want to trace a white woman in her 60s with short curly hair that was going grey. She wore a beige winter coat and carrying Sainsbury's shopping bags.
