A project to create a "geo garden" to commemorate the 200th anniversary of Shrewsbury's famous son Charles Darwin has been awarded £70,000.
The Aggregates Levy Sustainability Fund has contributed the money for the Darwin Memorial Geo Garden.
The garden has been designed to include a 30ft high vertical piece of art called Quantum Leap and a horizontal rock clock, which will tell the story of Shropshire's geology from the Big Bang to the present day.
