A major project costing hundreds of thousands of pounds to improve Shrewsbury's Grade I listed railway station could start early this year.
The plans include bringing platform three back into full use with a waiting room and a lift, improving signalling and general improvement to the station.
David Koring, Shropshire County Council rail officer, said he expected design work to start soon.
