Richard Davies, aged 21, from Burland Avenue, Claregate, faced an allegation of causing grievous bodily harm with intent to 18-year-old Thomas Barratt. He is also accused of assaulting Michael Powell.

Davies was remanded in custody by District Judge Shamim Qureshi at Wolverhampton Magistrates Court.

Timothy Fieldhouse, aged 23, from Aldersley Road, Tettenhall, and Sam Wapshott, 18 of Limetree Road, Bilbrook, were both accused of assaulting Mr Powell and affray.

Sophie Haden, 18, of Burland Avenue, Claregate and 19-year-old Claire Jackson from Green Lane, Claregate, were each charged with affray and assaulting Jessica Stone.

Those four were each given bail until March 13 on condition that they live at their home addresses, do not contact witnesses in the case and keep a night time curfew. The alleged offences are said to have been committed in Broad Street in the early hours of Sunday.

Mr Barratt, pictured, aged 18, who lives in the city, has been in a coma at Birmingham's Queen Elizabeth Hospital since being injured. He remained critical but stable.
