Man, 38, faces charge of rape

A 38-year-old man was due to appear before magistrates today charged with raping a woman in a village near Shrewsbury.

The man, who has not been named, is alleged to have raped the woman in Pontesbury on Thursday.

He was due to appear at a special hearing at Shrewsbury Magistrates Court.
