hospital-3Bosses at a Shropshire hospital hope to fill 30 new vacancies with a recruitment day.

The jobs at the Orthopaedic Hospital in Gobowen will be created by the building of a short-stay surgery unit.

The event, on May 17, will also find potential new recruits for the main theatre at the Gobowen-based hospital.

Between 10am and 3pm, visitors will be able to talk to the relevant theatre staff, tour the theatre unit and be interviewed for the positions available.

The open day has been designed as part of a recruitment and training programme for a range of clinical staff who will be providing patient care as part of the trust's expanded facilities.

Construction has now started on the new short-stay surgery unit, with the theatres due to open in September. The new staff will be required to start during the summer months, to be trained and familiarised ahead of the opening.

Sue Pryce, human resources manager, said: "We are looking for both qualified theatre and recovery staff, and experienced healthcare assistants. This is a fantastic opportunity for people to join our specialist team at the orthopaedic hospital."

To discuss the job opportunities and to book for the recruitment day call the trust's human resour- ces department on (01691) 404575. Job details can be seen at www.rjah-hospital-jobs.org.uk

The hospital has a world-wide reputation for innovation and research, and provides planned sur- gical treatment of bones and joints, as well as particular areas of expertise including spinal injuries.
