A Mid Wales beauty has secured a place in this year's final of Miss Earth Wales for the second year running.
Hairdresser and beautician Beverley Roberts, 26, of Trefeglwys, near Llanidloes said she was delighted to have once again got through to the final stages.
She hopes to improve on last year's success after being named Miss Earth UK public vote award winner.
She said: "Miss Earth is an event of style and glamour where women from all over the world are empowered to bring new meaning to beauty pageants by focusing on and promoting environmental awareness.
"I will do all I can to help promote environmental issues as I believe the world would be a better place if people helped clean-up the environment." Miss Roberts will now attend the crowning ceremony of Miss Earth UK on July 26, in Cardiff.
A spokeswoman for Miss Earth UK said the competition was aimed at promoting environmental awareness.
She said contestants would be required to plant trees, attend various environmental seminars and educate people on the three Rs – Reduce, Re-use and Recycle.
"The four country winners of the Miss Earth UK pageant will be flown to the Miss Earth world-class international venue." she said. "They will then compete with contestants from over 90 countries in the international televised pageant."
