Drugs taken in burglary

A large quantity of prescription drugs used to treat long-term illnesses have been stolen in a burglary in a Powys town.

Police said quantities of diazepam, lorezapam and co-codamol had been taken from the Llandrindod Wells area over the last few days.

Constable Dan McCrohon of Llandrindod Wells Police said he was worried the drugs could get into the wrong hands.

He urged anyone with information as to the whereabouts of these drugs to get in touch with the police immediately.

He said: "These are dangerous drugs and we have serious concerns that in the wrong hands, they could cause ill-health and have possible long term side effects."

Dyfed-Powys were unable to confirm today where in Llandrindod Wells the drugs had been stolen from.
