Fears have been raised over the potential use of unmanned flying drones in Mid Wales.

The Welsh Assembly Government is consulting the public over plans to allow the testing of Unmanned Aerial Systems.

It said areas of Radnorshire had been earmarked as potential inclusions in the scheme.

Bob Greenough, a resident of Llanwrtyd Wells and former aviation worker, said he was concerned what they would be used for.

He said: "What happens if the aircraft loses signal? Does it happily fly on until it runs out of fuel and then fall on to whatever is beneath?"
