freddie-fisher-17510Love-and-peace champion Freddie Fisher yesterday celebrated a "hippy" 24th birthday with a Summer Solstace themed task – but admitted it was weird having his big day captured on camera.

Big Brother said if the housemates stayed in hippy costume throughout the longest day of the year they would win a shopping token.

Halfwit was thrilled with his tie-dye outfit but told Angel: "This is probably the weirdest birthday because it's all being broadcast."

Freddie, from near Market Drayton, added: "It's so eclectic."

As part of the birthday celebrations, Freddie prepared and orated a 15-minute long speech to the other housemates all about himself.

Big Brother instructed Freddie to prepare the presentation entitled "The Life, Times and Thoughts of Halfwit the First" and if all housemates attended, then they would win two tokens and some music.

"I was born with a brain and very little understanding of social signals," Freddie said. "I've always been a bit different."

He then spoke of global warming and genocide, and his love of music before singing a piece of light opera for the housemates, which include Kris Donnelly from Shrewsbury.

Meanwhile, Craig Phillips, the Newport-based winner of the first Big Brother, remained tight-lipped about speculation he could return to the house next year for a task with all the previous series winners.

"There are rumours that for the 11th year, which is the last year Channel 4 has a licence to do the show, all the 10 winners will go back in the house," he said during a visit to Coalbrookdale.
