Two young pigs had to be put down after being "brutally" attacked at an Ellesmere smallholding, police said today.

Two young pigs had to be put down after being "brutally" attacked at an Ellesmere smallholding, police said today.
The animals, which were about 12 weeks old, were taken from their usual stable into another one nearby at the property in Sandy Lane.
They were then struck on their necks with a bladed item and had to be put down due to the severity of the injuries.
