The family of a 34-year-old man who died in a two-car crash in Shrewsbury today paid tribute to a much loved son, boyfriend and friend.
Matthew McKay, of Pontesbury, near Shrewsbury, died after the grey Rover car he was driving collided with a gold Volvo 4x4 in Bage Way on Thursday.
Today his parents, Alf and Linda McKay, said their son, who was a keen sportsman, would be "sadly missed".
A statement from the family said: "He loved the outdoor life but his greatest love was his family. He will be sadly missed by his family, his girlfriend Gill and his many friends."
Mr McKay attended primary and secondary schools in Ellesmere and moved to the Shrewsbury area to live a few years ago.
"He excelled at sport and was a great supporter of Leeds Rugby Team," his family said.
Mr McKay was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash, which happened at about 6.50pm.
Meanwhile, police are still to name a woman, believed to be in her 20s, who died on Saturday in a collision on the A5 near Nesscliffe.
