Thousands of leaflets are being distributed to households in Wem following a huge fire at a nearby industrial estate.
The leaflets aim to reassure people about the smoke being caused by the fire at Kingpin Tyres on the Wem Industrial Estate, which started on Tuesday. They have been produced by the agencies responding to the fire to give advice about how it is being tackled.
Fire crews were still at the scene earlier today and were expected to remain there for another week.
Copies of the leaflet will also be in Wem library and at www.shropshire.gov.uk
Superintendent Peter Lightwood, of West Mercia Police, said: "As well as the leaflet drop, fire service officers will be out and about in Wem to reassure anyone who may be worried about the fire.
"Firefighters are at the scene and the fire is under control, but it has become clear it will take some weeks to fully extinguish. With that in mind, we are directly communicating to residents to give them as much information as possible about the situation as it develops.
"Experts from the Environment Agency and Health Protection Agency are monitoring the air quality and as things stand there is no immediate danger to people's health."
Shropshire Council said there were no plans to close the Thomas Adams School.
