Police hunting for a missing Shropshire schoolgirl have released a CCTV image of the teenager taken on the day she disappeared.

Officers are becoming increasingly concerned for the safety of 14-year-old Sarah Dunn who vanished 11 days ago.

The picture was captured on CCTV in Wellington just after 4.10pm on the day she went missing and police believe she could still be in the town.

Sarah, of Leintwardine, has not been in touch with friends or family after disappearing on a trip to Bridgnorth, where she goes to school, on September 28.

Superintendent Kevin Purcell, who is leading the hunt, today said: "The CCTV image of Sarah shows a definite sighting of her in Wellington town centre and we believe there is every possibility that she remains somewhere in the town.

"We would ask the people of Wellington to report any possible sightings of Sarah to the police as it is vital that we trace her whereabouts as soon as we can.

Anyone who knows her whereabouts is asked to contact Herefordshire police on 0300 3333000 or the free confidential Missing People helpline on 0808 800 7070 or text 80234.

Superintendent Purcell added: "We want to reassure the wider community that we have no reason to believe Sarah has become a victim of crime, however her young age does make her vulnerable."

The schoolgirl is described as white, 5ft 2ins tall, slim build, with dyed black, medium length hair. She does change the colour of her hair and although recent photographs show Sarah with dark hair she has until recently had blonde coloured hair.
