Two cars were involved in the collision near the Spar shop on the A483 at Four Crosses, near Oswestry, at about 7.15pm yesterday.

No-one was seriously injured but firefighters dealt with a fuel spillage and checked that there had been no structural damage to the shop.

In another accident a woman was taken to the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital following a crash on the A53 between Tern Hill and Market Drayton when the car she was in burst through a hedge and overturned in a field at 6.45pm.

Earlier, two women were injured in a crash on the A53 near Hopton, Market Drayton. A woman in her 40s suffered serious leg injuries and had to be freed from the wreckage of her car by firefighters using cutting equipment.

The driver of the second vehicle, a woman believed to be in her 20s, suffered minor injuries. Both were taken to hospital by ambulance.

The crash involved a green Renault Clio, a blue Ford Fiesta and a coach. Police said no-one on the coach was injured.

Meanwhile a man, believed to be aged about 20, suffered minor injuries when the car he was driving overturned in Highley Road, Billingsley, near Bridgnorth.

He suffered a cut to the head in the incident which happened at about 4.45pm. He was released from his car before firefighters arrived.
