A major campaign is to be launched in a bid to cut down the number of deaths involving motorcyclists on north Shropshire's roads, safety experts revealed today.
The Go Safe campaign will be launched in March by Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service in partnership with other safety groups.
Details of the new campaign were revealed on Saturday at a meeting at a pub near Market Drayton between bikers, local residents and the emergency services.
Fire, police and road safety professionals attended the Stormy Petrel pub, which is popular with bikers, to talk about plans to reduce motorcycle road deaths in the county.
About 25 residents, who had complained about bikers and how they used the area's roads, as well as a number of bikers, also attended the meeting.
With eight motorbike riders killed this year on Shropshire roads, a series of safety events planned over the next few months aimed at cutting the death toll were outlined.
