Appeal launch for memorial

A fundraising appeal has been launched to help pay for improvements to the war memorial in Wem.

A planning application has been submitted to Shropshire Council to fit a new handrail beside the steps leading to the memorial at St Peter and Paul's Church in High Street.

A decision is due next month.
