Edward Manning, manager of Ellesmere Medical Centre, was found hanging in a barn at his home by his wife, Dr Victoria Manning on November 16 last year.
The inquest heard how Mr Manning, of Dudleston Heath, had in September last year faced allegations that he had awarded himself pay increases at the centre over a five year period, which he denied.
The 38-year-old had been due to attend a voluntary interview with police in Market Drayton on November 19, the inquest heard.
Mr John Ellery, coroner for North and Mid West Shropshire, today recorded a verdict that Mr Manning had killed himself.
