Geo-garden work to finish

A geo-garden built as part of the controversial £483,000 Quantum Leap sculpture project in Shrewsbury will be completed next week after the cold-snap halted work.

The garden, which features rock from the 10 geological periods which feature in Shropshire, was unable to be completed because the icy weather had prevented engineers from

laying the asphalt.

The gates to the garden and sculpture also had to be closed in case people slipped.

But today Rian Huxley, spokeswoman for Shropshire Council, said that work to complete the project would begin after Easter.

She said: "The works are due to start on Tuesday to complete the surfacing and fencework. They are expected to be completed by the end of the week."
