Severn Hospice, TelfordLetter: I would like to take his opportunity to say a huge thank you to all the people who helped our family through a very tough time due to the illness of my father who sadly passed away recently.

Thanks to their fantastic support, commitment and care we all managed to make my dad's last few weeks comfortable and pain free at home, which is where he wanted to be, with his family.

This would not have been possible without the support of all the staff at the Severn Hospice, the Macmillan nurses, Marie Curie Cancer Care, DH Homecare and all the doctors and nurses from the Shawbury practice. The home care he received was second to none giving us full support through the day and night (or whenever we called), without hesitation.

Words really can't express our gratitude to them, and we know our dad felt the same way as he often said what fantastic and caring people they were. They made sure he kept his dignity throughout, enabling him to remain his usual funny, daft, wonderful self right up until his sad passing.

During the funeral service at High Ercall a collection was made for the Severn Hospice and a great total of £524 was donated. So thanks to all the family and friends for the money, which will ensure someone else will receive the same high level of care in their time of need.

They were also a great support for my mom, for which she will be eternally grateful. So once again from all the family of John Evans, thank you.
