A Shropshire father and son team have found themselves in demand following the grounding of the world-famous Red Arrows.

The aerobatics team had to pull out of the RAF Cosford Air Show and other national dates after one of its members had to be replaced due to injury. It meant extra time training and resulted in a delay in getting the licence to fly.

The news revealed last month came as a major disappointment to many hoping to catch a glimpse of the trademark sky somersaults and stunts.

But Steve Bishop and son Matt, from Madeley in Telford, run a Red Arrows Model Flying Aircraft team and say their phone is red hot with people asking for the miniature versions to replace them.

Their planes are one-fifth the size of the real thing and perform all of the same daredevil stunts.

Steve said: "We will be all over the UK in the summer before flying out to Germany and Italy."

The miniature versions will be on display on June 19 and June 20 at the Weston Park International Model Air Show.
