Footballer Craig Disley takes lead on violence

A Shrewsbury Town football star was today due to show the red card to booze-fuelled domestic violence in a campaign launched in time for the World Cup.

Town's Craig Disley has backed the West Mercia Police campaign to urge victims to make a stand and report it to the police.

Police chiefs said the number of alcohol-fuelled abuse incidents increased when England were playing, with many victims being abused at the hands of drunken partners.
