Three Shropshire schools joined forces in a bid to smash a world record for the longest walking bus.
Hundreds of pupils, parents and teachers took to the streets of Shropshire along with thousands of other schools across the country in an attempt to get their name in the record books.
The county schools taking part in yesterday's event included Shifnal Primary School in Shifnal, St Peter's School in Newport and Captain Webb Primary in Dawley.
The giant walking bus is the brainchild of road safety charity Brake, which raises money for car crash victims.
The event aims to raise awareness of the number of children killed and hurt while on foot by fast traffic.
Sue Richards, administrator at Shifnal Primary School, said: "The walk went really well and all of the children joined in. We had parents and staff walking too.
"The rules say you have to walk a minimum of 500 metres and we did just over that. We would have walked more but we had an Ofsted inspection today so we couldn't.
"I would like to thank everyone for doing it and especially Mrs Gailey who has worked extremely hard on it all."
Donations were also raised for Brave.
