He is believed to have lost control of his machine on the A49 at Hinton before crashing into a grass verge just before 8pm. He has not yet been formally identified but he is believed to be a man in his 40s from Lancashire.

No other vehicle was involved.
Constable Daniel Yates, the investigating officer, said today: "We have traced the group of motorcyclists who stopped to assist the man but we believe other road users may have seen the incident.
"We are appealing to anyone who saw the collision or who may have seen him riding his red Honda VFR 750 motorcycle on the A49 from the Cheshire direction towards Whitchurch beforehand.
"The number to call is Whitchurch or Shrewsbury police station on 0300 3333000."
Police spokesman Richard Ewels said a post mortem examination was held on Friday and the man is expected to be formally named tomorrow afternoon.
The road was closed for several hours after the crash and traffic diverted.
