A Shropshire cake shop will be celebrating its first anniversary by giving away 365 cakes to raise money for charity.

Queenies Cupcakery, in Ironbridge, Telford, will be giving away the cupcakes to one lucky raffle winner.

All the proceeds from the raffle will be going to three charities that are close to the owners' hearts.

They are Help for Heroes, Blesma (which stands for the British Limbless Ex-Service Men's Association) and The Royal British Legion.

Claire Shaw, who runs Queenies with her niece Kaye Shaw, said: "These charities are befitting to the image we have as a shop.

"Anyone who has visited Queenies will know how much the bygone era of the Great British spirit is plentiful, so it seemed most appropriate to support our troops from both current and past years.

"The people that these charities support have given the ultimate sacrifice and helped to ensure that we can have the free life we have."

Kaye said: "Not only will customers be in with the chance of being in cupcake heaven but they will be helping three very worthy causes.

"The winner could use the prize to accompany a very special event such as a dream wedding or a birthday celebration."

The cakes, worth £500, can be enjoyed either one a day for an entire year or all in one go.

The tickets are £5 each and can be bought from Queenies Cupcakery on The Wharfage.

The raffle will be drawn on August 30 at a special birthday bash at the shop.
