The owner of an unclaimed £60,000 lottery ticket that was sold in Shropshire has until Monday to root out the slip before the cash goes to charity, lottery bosses said today.

The winning ticket was bought in Telford on February 10 and matched five numbers and the bonus ball.

But despite continued appeals the owner remains a mystery.

Lottery bosses said that if no-one comes forward by 5.30pm on Monday the full £60,415, plus interest, will be handed over to charity.

With just a week to go, lottery players are being urged to check and double-check their tickets for the chance to claim the "life-enhancing" sum.

The winning numbers were 5, 7, 15, 37, 42, 44 and the bonus ball was 3.

Patrick Lisoire, spokesman for The National Lottery, said: "Time really is running out for the winner of this prize, but we are still hopeful that someone will come forward at the last minute to claim the money.

"We're urging everyone to check their old tickets again or look anywhere a missing lotto ticket could be hiding.

"This life-enhancing prize could really help to make dreams become a reality for someone out there."

With all National Lottery draws, players have 180 days from the day of the draw to claim their prize if they have the winning ticket.

Anyone who believes they have the winning ticket for any of the National Lottery draws within the 180-day deadline should call the National Lottery Line on 0845 910 0000.

The charity which will scoop is the cash if no one comes forward is Good Causes, the fund where all unclaimed cash prizes end up.
