A woman was taken to hospital after being cut free from her car, which ended up on a Telford traffic island.

Firefighters had to partly cut off the roof of the Ford Fiesta to get the driver out after the crash at Lawley Common roundabout yesterday, shortly after 5.30pm.

Tean Treharne, watch manager at Telford Central Fire Station, said the vehicle spun off the road and ended up on the roundabout.
