The mother of tragic Shropshire teenager Liam Wright today made an emotional appeal for information about his death pleading: "End my 20-year nightmare".

In an exclusive interview, Faith Wright has revealed her pain since her 19-year-old son died in a mystery shed fire at Madeley Ski Slope, Telford, on September 10 1990. Nobody has ever been charged in connection with his death.

Speaking from her home in Spain, Mrs Wright said she had "laid bare my soul in this last appeal for justice".

Mrs Wright said: "It goes without saying, I just want closure, to have some inner peace, to know what happened to Liam and to finally be able to let go and let him too rest in peace.

"I have served a 20- year life sentence and for what? Just loving my son.

"I beg anyone who, no matter how trivial or irrelevant they may think it may be, to just please come forward, tell the police, let them judge.

"Please, give me some peace, if you know anything at all, now is the time to tell it."

She urged the author of an anonymous letter given to detectives to come forward.

Mrs Wright, whose husband Eddie died of a heart attack never knowing what had happened to their son, added: "Being robbed of my future, was the biggest thing to come to terms with - robbed of my grandchildren.

"Liam loved children, depending on his circumstances he was going to have four.

"I should now be part of a big family, surrounded by love."

Mrs Wright said her "cheeky" son, who lived in Brookside, had a "lovely personality" and "never had a bad word to say about anyone - I loved him for that."

Anybody with information should contact Telford police on 0300 333 3000.
