Committee members are organising the second Oswestry Festival of the Word after the success of inaugural event which was held earlier this year.
Plans to include film in the festivities are being examined after it was revealed the town's Attfield Theatre had been selected to screen regional film premieres.
John Waine, one of the festival organisers, said: "We have had our first planning meeting where we bounced ideas around.
"It was really exciting and we have decided to try and get Gyles Brandreth to come along to the next festival.
"We are also talking ab-out introducing film writing. We could get people to make their own films to show in the evenings. We might ask people to create a film about Oswestry.
"Library staff are going to try to get Top Gear story books for children and put them on a display."
