A man thought to be the oldest former pupil of a Telford primary school was back behind his desk today to help it celebrate its centenary.
Harry Lowe, 93, from Hadley, was at was at Wombridge Primary in Oakengates to team up with one of the school's youngest pupils.
He and four-year-old Abigail Buttery, from Oakengates, presented a plaque to the school to commemorate its 100th birthday to chair of governors Lindsay Allen and headteacher Neil Satoor.
Eleven-year-old pupils Callum Williams and Bethany Falconer also received the plaque on the school's behalf.
Abigail, Callum and Bethany were all chosen to star in the celebrations as they each have parents or relatives who were also former pupils at Wombridge.
Children at the school have been studying all ten decades since it was founded and today they donned costumes from each era to mark the occasion.
The centenary bash was the idea of teaching assistant Linda Sabini who, with 24 years at the school, is one of the longest serving members of staff.
Mrs Sabini said: "The front entrance of one part of the school still looks pretty much as it did 100 years ago but everywhere else and inside it has changed dramatically.
