A Mid Wales man is charting the careers of actors, musicians and singers who have originated from the region for a new book.
Alan Crowe, who lives in Welshpool, has started writing the book on stars who have either begun their careers in Mid Wales, or came to live and perform there.
He said a startling amount of people had gone on to find fame and fortune after humble beginnings in the county, while many have settled in Mid Wales after successful careers.
Mr Crowe said he was also including many musicians and singers who had played on the local music scene and appealed for people with friends or family in the business to come forward.
He said: "There are so many people who have carved out successful careers in television, on stage, or on music who have come from Mid Wales.
"Two current stars of Eastenders have roots in Mid Wales, Charlie Brooks who plays Janine was born in Barmouth and has family in Newtown, while Adam Woodyatt who plays Ian Beale was a butcher at Kwik Save in Llanidloes when he got the part."
