Residents of Welshpool are being urged to have their say on plans for the town, including cutting down on anti-social behaviour and litter.

The Welshpool - Into the Future With Pride plan has been released in final draft format, with residents urged to have their say on the issues by November 22.

The plan is what the council will work to achieve in the town by 2014.

Robert Robinson, town clerk, said the plan included the provision of allotments, councillor surgeries, more litter and doggy bins and plans to deal with anti-social behaviour are top priorities.

He said the council would also work to find a better solution to wind farm transport through the town and a reduction in wind farms being built in Mid Wales.

The plans will go to the full town council for final approval on November 24.

The report says: "The council completed the future of Welshpool plan in 2007 and a new community plan was required. The plan will form the policy of the council for the period 2010 to 2014 and will form the basis for any consultation with regard to the local development plan prepared by Powys County Council.

"The purpose of the community plan is to set a programme and give direction to the council on activities to make the town of Welshpool a better place to live."

Residents can view the plans and have their say by attending a mayor's coffee morning, the town clerk's office or from a councillor direct.
