Police today re-appealed for witnesses to an accident in which a Mid Wales teenager died.

Kyle Fawcett, 16, from Welshpool, died when he was involved in a collision with a bus leaving Newtown Bus Station at 6pm last Friday.

Police said the tragedy happened as the town service bus was leaving the bus station in Back Lane.

Antony Topazio, force spokesman, said today: "We are re-appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident to come forward and speak to us.

"The incident happened as the bus was leaving the bus station and pulling into Back Lane.

"Kyle was taken by ambulance under police escort to the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital, where he was pronounced dead."

Paying tribute, Kyle's family described him as a "joyful, fun-loving lad" who was "always having a good time".

More than 1,100 people have so far signed up to a group set up in tribute to Kyle on social networking website Facebook.
