Police release Wem danger driver video

A video clip showing the dangerous driving of a Shropshire motorist during a road rage incident was today released by police for public viewing.

The driver was captured on town centre CCTV cameras in Wem, chasing and overtaking two vehicles on a zebra crossing and driving on the wrong side of the road.

He was also caught on film overtaking the same vehicles a second time, suddenly pulling back in front and completing a handbrake turn to block the road.

A collision was narrowly avoided as the cars swerved to pass the offender.

Police said the footage showed how valuable CCTV was for bringing offenders to court.

The driver admitted two charges of dangerous driving and was sent to a young offenders institute for six months.
