Two men were arrested by police today on suspicion of possessing drugs after officers swooped on a Telford home.

Drugs were found by officers in the raid at Springhill Crescent in Madeley.

A warrant was executed by police just after 7am after tip-offs from the public.

Two men in their 40s are currently in custody at Malinsgate Police Station.

Inspector Derek Holland, who is in charge of local policing in south Telford, said: "This is the latest in a number of warrants that police right across Telford have executed under the Misuse of Drugs Act this year and we will continue to tackle those suspected of using or supplying drugs.

"This warrant was executed as a result of information we received from the local community and we would encourage anyone who has any concerns regarding drug crimes to call us immediately.

"Remember Crimestoppers provides the means to pass information about suspicious activity or crime with a guarantee of anonymity.

"It is important people call us with information, because it is ultimately their help that enables us to carry out operations and make arrests."

Anyone with information is urged to call police on 0300 333 3000, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
