A nine-year-old Shropshire schoolgirl has died after collapsing at her father's home. Kayleigh Hunt, from Admaston, Telford, died on Saturday afternoon.

Her father tried to resuscitate her and ambulance crews called to the house in Ketley Bank gave emergency treatment at the scene.

Kayleigh was rushed to Telford's Princess Royal Hospital but later pronounced dead.

The cause of death has yet to be ascertained.

Her mother Julie today led the tributes saying her "beautiful" daughter would be sorely missed.

She said: "She loved to dance. She was always making up a new dance and then trying to show it to everybody else.

"She was very confident and very outgoing. She had performed in front of the school before in assembly.

"She was very mature for her age and she always had a smile. She was just beautiful.

"A lot of people knew her and she touched so many different people."

Kayleigh was spending the day with her father at his home when the tragedy happened just after 3.30pm

Kayleigh's brothers, Ben, 17, and Oli, 14, also paid tribute to their younger sister.

They said: "She was very strong-willed. You could never get her to do anything that she didn't want to do.

"She always wanted to be the centre of attention and quite often was. We will miss her terribly."

Rod Dean, headteacher of St Peters C of E Primary School, Bratton, where Kayleigh was a pupil, said: "Kayleigh was an effervescent character, extremely popular with pupils and staff and a keen performer and dancer.

"She was full of creative energy and everyone who knew her enjoyed her company."
