Thieves have left a Telford music teacher unable to give any lessons to his pupils after breaking into his car and escaping with a haul of instruments valued at more than £1,000.
The raiders struck after Phil Page left his Renault Megan Scenic parked on the drive of his house in Lees Farm Drive, Madeley, at about 5.45pm yesterday.
Mr Page, 50, who gives lessons at nine schools in Walsall, discovered the theft when he went to the car at 7.30am today.
The father of two, whose wife Yvette is a district nurse, said: "I had left the car on the drive after picking up the kids yesterday and when I went out this morning to put my bags in the passenger side I noticed the glove compartment was open.
"Then I saw the console compartment between the front seats was also open and I started to panic, realising all my musical instruments and equipment were locked away in the boot.
"I went to check and, sure enough, they had all been taken."
Mr Page said the thieves got away with a Yamaha 550 keyboard, valued at about £500, a Carlsbro Wanderer amplifier, a metallic glockenspiel, a couple of melodicas and a sports bag filled with electric leads. His sat nav was also taken.
Mr Page said he had been unable to go to work today as he could not teach without the instruments and he would not be able to do so until he had some more.
Telford police spokesman Chris Ammonds urged anyone with information to call 0300 333 3000 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
