Two women, one a 19-year-old Shropshire hairdresser, have died in separate crashes.

Teenager Kirstyn Moore died after her Ford Ka was involved in a smash on the A458 in Morville, near Bridgnorth, on Saturday morning.

And another woman driver died after being hit by a car and lorry as she walked along the hard shoulder of the M54 on Sunday following another crash.

The dead woman's car had ended up on its side alongside the hard shoulder of the westbound carriageway at 7am between junction two at Wolverhampton and junction three at Albrighton.

It is understood she was hit by a car and a lorry after getting out of the wreckage and walking on the hard shoulder in the dark.

Meanwhile tributes have been paid to Miss Moore, who worked at Red Salons in Bridgnorth but trained at Salon Ten in Much Wenlock.

A Facebook page "RIP Kirstyn Moore The Shining Star" has been set up in memory of Miss Moore.

Nicky Marcar, manager of Salon Ten where Miss Moore had worked since the age of 16, today said everyone was devastated.

"Kirstyn worked with us for about three years and only left a couple of months ago," she said.

"She started as a Saturday girl and did all of her training with us.

"She grew up with us here. It's just so sad - she was like my daughter. Kirstyn was the life and soul."

Miss Moore leaves her parents and two sisters, who were too upset to speak today.

It is thought she had been travelling to work in Bridgnorth when her car was in collision with a car travelling in the opposite direction close to Poplar Cottage Farm.

Sergeant Steve Hastie, of West Mercia Police, said the two occupants of the other car were taken to the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital by ambulance with minor injuries.

Suzie Fothergill, spokeswoman for West Midlands Ambulance Service, said members of the public had tried to resuscitate Miss Moore but she died at the scene.

The road was closed for nearly five hours. Witnesses to either crash are urged to call police.
