Cigarettes and tobacco worth more than £7,000 have been stolen from Mid Wales supermarket.

Burglars swooped on the Somerfield store in Llangurig Road, Llanidloes, late on Wednesday evening, Dyfed-Powys Police said.

Chief Inspector Martin Tavener said: "With this amount of stock taken, it is plausible there will be a variety of tobacco products available at cheap prices.

"If you are approached, in pubs or on the street, please report the incident to police."
