The 51-year-old woman suffered the injuries at Ashbourne Close in Dawley.
She was taken to the Princess Royal Hospital on Sunday lunchtime with serious head injuries but later died.
Detectives launched an investigation and sealed off the house, treating it as a crime scene while forensic officers carried out examinations.
But officers closed the probe last night after a post mortem examination proved she had suffered the injuries in a fall.
Detective Inspector Nick Haggitt, of Telford CID, said: "I can confirm that the man arrested on Sunday has now been released without charge.
"The results of the Home Office post mortem revealed that the lady died of head injuries consistent with a fall and therefore we have now released the property on Ashbourne Close and stood down our scene guard.
"The lady's family have been informed of the results of the post mortem examination and about the release of the arrested man."
Neighbours said an Eastern European couple lived at the address and had moved into the house in September.
