Man dies after being hit by car at Prees Green

The incident happened at about 11.30am on Saturday and the A49 was closed until about 4.30pm.

Claire Thomas, a West Midlands Ambulance Service spokeswoman, said: "When crews arrived on scene they found two off-duty midwives giving excellent CPR to a man who was in cardiac arrest and had a serious head injury.

"The man had reportedly collided with a car."
