A Telford father charged with murdering his 24-year-old daughter "didn't like his own children", a court heard today.
Amrit Kaur Ubhi was found dead by police at her family's home in Berberis Road, Leegomery, on September 7 last year.
Her father, Gurmeet Singh Uhbi, 54, is alleged to have strangled her over an argument about the TV being too loud.
He denies murder.
Giving evidence at Leicester Crown Court today, Ubhi's wife, Satender Kaur Uhbi, described the relationship between her husband and their two children.
She said: "He didn't like his own children."
Earlier today the trial heard evidence from senior forensic medical advisor for West Mercia Police, Dr Christopher Lisk, who examined Uhbi following his arrest on September 7.
Describing Uhbi as a polite and cooperative man, he said: "There were a series of scratches on the top of his chest on the right hand side, a diagonal scratch on the left hand side of his chest, minor scratches to the front of his left arm and two quite clear bite marks to the middle of the left arm".
He went on to describe more cuts and scratches to the defendant's face and neck.
He added: "Facial skin scratches very easily but the back of the neck is tough. To inflict scratches on the back of the neck you have to scratch hard."
The court was told that Uhbi met his wife after she came to England to visit relatives in Telford in 1980. They married later in the same year.
