A Shropshire teenager has turned entrepreneur in a bid to provide nights out for young clubbers across the county.

Ben Hill, 16, from Wem, is making a name for himself as the brains behind the successful Malfunction party nights which are held in Shrewsbury and Wellington.

The events are for 16 to 19 year olds and have built up a following, with people travelling from Shrewsbury, Chester and Wales to attend.

This month Ben will be celebrating Malfunction's first birthday with a number of DJs. It will be held at Shrewsbury's C21 night club and lounge bar, in Abbey Foregate, on Sunday from 8pm until 1am.

Ben said he started the events to provide a cheap and fun night out for people his age.

"I organised one event and it just snowballed from there," he said. "I have great support from the venues and from local businesses. This is the second time the event has been held in Shrewsbury and we get between 350 to 500 people attending.

"This month it is our birthday event and we have a larger headliner."

Malfunction features music genres including house and dubstep. This month it will star nationally known club DJ Jigsaw and Malfunction DJs including Theo Wainhouse, Jimmy Mallinson and Joey Austin.

Tickets cost £6 and are available from some schools and sixth forms in Shropshire.
