The Age Concern office serving north Shropshire has been saved from closure after fundraisers and a town council stepped in.
Age Concern said it was closing the Whitchurch office after 20 per cent funding cuts from Shropshire Council in January.
But it has been saved for a year thanks to a £7,000 grant and will be open on most weekday mornings.
Cash raised by Age Concern supporters has been match funded by a Whitchurch Town Council grant of £3,500.
